Sunbrimmer Records

Sunbrimmer Records was looking for a site brand that would give them a unique voice in the niche market of vinyl record stores. We put out heads together and came up with a responsive site that leverages the Instagram API to create a unique way for the store owner to interact with site visitors and spread his brand easily across other social channels with minimum overhead.

Grey Duck

Grey Duck was looking to enter into the design/remodeling field in Minneapolis, and sought a web presence that would would best represent their design ethic—hand-crafted, clean, efficient, and forward-looking. The result was a site that we hoped would help them stand out among their competitors by featuring responsive design and social network integration.

Watershed

Watershed is a finance application for web and mobile that brings an easy-to-use, streamlined graphic interface to financial calculations. It is ideal for roommates, road-trippers and party co-planners. Many finance apps try to do everything, or else make coordination with others difficult. We tried to make this app stand out by focusing squarely on the shared-finances aspect of record-keeping, and making the app itself highly intuitive and inviting. For young people who may be intimidated by the complexity of apps like Mint or Quicken, we kept it streamlined and drew inspiration from apps like 37signals' "Basecamp" and Metalab's "Flow" to focus on the social side of sharing finances. I was hired to do creative direction and front-end programming, and had the privilege of collaborating with developer Ahmet Arsan.

Responsive Email Template

After doing a bunch of work with email at my job and responsive design outside my job, I wanted to explore combining the two and see if I could develop a responsive email template that would be ideal for corporate mailings. The result was an email that I would feel confidant pitching to stakeholders; it's fluid, adaptable and clearly annotated for a marketing team. The template has been tested and functions properly in the following clients: Apple Mail 5 & 6 Outlook 2000, 2000XP, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2013 iOS 6 AOL Mail(IE, Firefox, Chrome) Gmail(IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera) Outlook.com(IE, Firefox, Chrome) Yahoo! Mail(IE, Firefox, Chrome)

Chicago Homebrew Collective

The Chicago Homebrew Collective is a website designed to bring people together in appreciation of beer and design and offer a new venue for networking. Similar to Dribbble, the site lets Brewers create profiles for themselves and child pages for each of their brews. Brewers on the site can follow each other and see what's brewing, browse and favorite brews, search brews by ingredients and tags, and of course, create awesome profiles for each of their brews that allows them to indulge in the fun of branding their beer. Currently ongoing.

Jon Gardner, Visual Artist Portfolio

Jon Gardner is a visual artist based in Chicago. I designed his professional portfolio website and a mobile application portfolio, but as of now only the website is live. It was a challenge designing something so minimal as to not interfere with his artistic vision, yet also distinguishing his website as his own. We collaborated together to make it just right.
